About Us
Valley 1st Community Federal Credit Union operates through a Board of Directors who are elected by our members and serve as volunteers. The Board consists of officers who set policies, objectives, and standards that guide our staff in achieving a common goal. We believe that the core building blocks of our financial institution rest upon the initiatives we take with our members and within our organization.

Experience The Credit Union Difference
When you become a member of Valley 1st Community Federal Credit Union, you become part of a movement encompassing more than 120 million members nationwide.
Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives. Like you, we believe in doing business locally in support of our community. Our structure is also uniquely different from for-profit banks. We are here to serve you, to make your financial dreams come true — not earn profits for shareholders. Earnings are returned to you in lower loan rates, higher interest on deposits, and lower fees. It’s what the credit union difference is all about!
Being a member is different from a customer.
For credit unions, membership is a prime example of economic democracy, with each member having a share or equal ownership. As a member, you enjoy local decision-making and can save time and money on all services. The “people helping people” philosophy also encourages community goodwill, the foundation we were built on.
How credit unions are different:
You are part of a financial cooperative.
Receive local service centered on your needs.
You save time and money on all financial services.
And you can rest easy, knowing decisions are made locally.
Share the gift of membership.
Help your friends and family experience the credit union difference.
We can serve your family and anyone who lives, works, or worships in Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland County.
