Joining

Once you become a member, you are always a member, provided you maintain an active, open account. This means you can carry the benefits of credit union membership even if you move, change jobs, or retire.

To begin enjoying the benefits of credit union membership, simply complete an application in person at one of our two convenient locations, Monessen or Rostraver Township (inside Wal-Mart), along with an opening deposit of at least $5.00 and an initial membership fee of $1.00... it’s that easy!

Account Ownership

Individual Account - owned strictly by you. Information or funds are not available to anyone else.

Joint Account - account is established in two or more names. Each joint owner has equal access and can make deposits, loans, withdrawals, inquiries, or close the account. The primary account holder will be the first name on the account, but all must apply in person with valid government issued ID.

Membership is open to any person or persons living, working, or worshipping in Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland County and their family members.

Important Information and Procedures for Opening a New Account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you: When you open your account at Valley 1st Community FCU, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will also ask to see your drivers license or other government issued ID, and/or other identifying documents.
